ABOUT SANGATI CENTRE FOR PERFORMING ARTS
Established in 2017, Sangati has successfully developed a training program in Kathak classical dance and a repertory company with highly committed, dancers and musicians. Vaishali Trivedi, who is an accomplished dancer, teacher, singer and a choreographer with international exposure, leads the Kathak training and choreography department. The music wing is led by Ramesh Bapodara, a master tabla player with a vast experience of working with the top artists in the field.
 
At Sangati we connect through a common love of dance and music. We pursue innovation with passion. Rasikas and critics alike have applauded our performances for their excellence, integrity, commitment and creativity. Through our training program we give a supporting environment to nurture the talent, potential and spirit of each student.
 
Sangati presents performances in both traditional and contemporary styles, incorporating abstract and symbolic themes without diluting the aesthetics of Kathak dance.
VAISHALI TRIVEDI
Vaishali Trivedi is a Kathak dancer, singer, choreographer and a teacher based in Ahmedabad, India. Acclaimed as a rare dancer with a melodious voice by artists and connoisseurs, Vaishali combines perfect technique with flowing grace and a very fine sensitivity. She began her training in Kathak, under Padma Vibhushan Smt. Kumudini Lakhia, India’s path breaking choreographer and Kathak dancer, at an early age and later became a principal dancer, teacher and a choreographer at Kadamb Centre for Dance in Ahmedabad. After working at Kadamb for several years, Vaishali branched away and formed Sangati Centre For Performing Arts in 2017. Read more..
RAMESH BAPODARA

Guru-Shishya Parampara is one of the greatest traditions of Indian classical arts. Ramesh Bapodara received his tabla training from the renowned Guru Pt. Shri Sudhir Kumar Saxena of Ajarada School of Tabla. He completed his graduation in music with specialization in tabla from M.S. University of Baroda. Ramesh comes from a traditional family of Haveli Sangeet singers, Haveli Sangeet being one of the oldest classical styles of singing. From a very young age he was initiated into music by his father Shri Vithaldas Bapodara, a famous Haveli Sangeet singer. From his grandfather, Shri Vallabhdas Bapodara, who was also a very accomplished Haveli Sangeet singer, he learned to play the pakhawaj.

CLASSES AND TRAINING PROGRAM

At Sangati Centre For Performing Arts we offer training programs in Kathak dance and Tabla for children aged seven and above. The seven years basic course offers a diverse curriculum of Kathak/Tabla techniques, group-performing experiences, introduction to other related arts to prepare them for well rounded young dancers/musicians. We also organize intensive workshops and lectures twice a year given by our own very experienced faculty and also by well-known visiting artists and scholars from India and abroad.  Once the course is completed, talented students are encouraged to join our repertory company.

 

Regular classes are conducted twice a week in the evening for one hour each.
Specific short term and long term courses are designed for foreign students. We have regular students from USA, Spain, Israel, UK, France and other parts of India to take specialized training.
